Halotestin is an anabolic steroid with unusually strong androgenic activity, derived from methyltestosterone. In clinical use, fluoxymesterone was first prescribed for male hypogenitalism, for delayed puberty in men, and for breast neoplasms in women.
Thanks to its specific profile, fluoxymesterone is mainly used by athletes to lift strength, add muscle hardness and sharpen aggression — without piling on bodyweight. It also sees use in boxing and other combat sports. In bodybuilding, use is sparse: it does not drive meaningful muscle bulk.
Fluoxymesterone does not aromatise and does not convert to oestradiol; even so, it remains a very potent androgen. Female athletes should steer clear.
An interesting quirk of fluoxymesterone: it ramps up erythropoiesis — the production of red blood cells — and promotes the branching of the capillary network inside the muscles. Better blood supply, in turn, feeds a sharp jump in strength and endurance.
