Magnustropin — somatropin growth hormone, 10 IU per vial

Magnustropin is a recombinant human growth hormone preparation at 10 IU per vial, packaged as a 10-vial kit. The 191-amino-acid sequence matches endogenous somatropin, giving the same physiological effects — tissue repair, lipolysis, improved recovery and gradual changes in body composition.

Protocols run anywhere from 2 to 6 IU daily depending on the goal. Lower doses — 2 IU, taken on an empty stomach in the morning — favour longevity, sleep quality and recovery. Higher doses push into performance and body-composition territory and bring more pronounced water retention and sensitivity-related effects.

Reconstitution with bacteriostatic water keeps the compound stable for several weeks in the fridge. Cycles typically run 3–6 months — this is a long-game compound, not a short-term booster. Suited to users with the discipline for daily subcutaneous injections over an extended window.

Magnustropin is 191-amino-acid recombinant human growth hormone at 10 IU per vial, supplied as a ten-vial pack. Typical performance protocols run 2–6 IU daily sub-cut across three-to-six-month cycles. Split-dose timing (morning and pre-training) tends to work better than a single evening shot once daily totals go above 3 IU. Reconstitute each 10 IU vial with 1 ml bacteriostatic water, giving a 10 IU/ml solution — convenient for insulin-syringe dosing. Store the dry vials at 2–8 °C; reconstituted vials keep refrigerated for roughly two weeks.

SIDE EFFECTS

Patients with Prader-Willi syndrome should contact their doctor promptly if signs of lung or breathing problems appear — shortness of breath, coughing, or new or increased snoring. Rare but serious breathing problems have been reported in people with Prader-Willi syndrome who use Magnustropin.

Get emergency medical help for any sign of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat.

Call the doctor at once for any of these serious side effects: severe pain in the upper stomach spreading to the back, nausea and vomiting, fast heart rate; increased thirst, increased urination, hunger, dry mouth, fruity breath odour, drowsiness, dry skin, blurred vision, and weight loss; sudden and severe pain behind the eyes, vision changes; swelling in the head, face, hands or feet; or
numbness or tingling in the wrist, hand or fingers.

Less serious side effects may include: headache, feeling tired; redness, soreness, swelling, rash, itching, pain or bruising at the injection site; pain in the arms or legs, joint stiffness or pain; muscle pain; or cold symptoms such as a stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat.

Before using Magnustropin, tell the doctor about insulin use or any oral diabetes medicine. Magnustropin can affect blood sugar levels, and the dose of diabetes medication may need adjustment. Do not change the dose of diabetes medication without the doctor’s advice.

Tell the doctor about any use of steroid medicine — cortisone, dexamethasone, methylprednisolone, prednisone and others. Steroids can blunt the effect of Magnustropin, so doses may need adjustment. Do not stop a steroid abruptly. Follow the doctor’s instructions.

Mention every other medication in use, especially cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune), seizure medication, birth control pills, anabolic steroids, or hormone replacement medications for men or women.

This list is not exhaustive — other drugs may interact with Magnustropin. Share the full medication list with the doctor. That includes prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin and herbal products. Do not start a new medication without telling the doctor.

ADMINISTRATION

Use exactly as prescribed. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts, or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on the prescription label.

The dose and brand of Magnustropin, and how often it is given, will depend on what is being treated. Follow the prescription label.

Magnustropin is injected into a muscle or under the skin. Patients may be shown how to administer injections at home. Do not self-inject this medicine unless the technique is fully understood — needle disposal included.
Rotate the injection site each time. The care provider will indicate the best spots on the body. Do not inject into the same place two times in a row. Avoid injecting into skin or muscle that is red, sore, infected or injured.

Do not shake the medication bottle — shaking may ruin the medicine. When mixing Magnustropin with a diluent (liquid), use a gentle swirling motion. Do not use the medication if it has changed colour or has particles in it. Call the doctor for a new prescription.
Use a disposable needle only once. Throw away used needles in a puncture-proof container (ask the pharmacist where to obtain one and how to dispose of it). Keep that container well out of the reach of children and pets.

To be sure this medication is helping without causing harm, blood and growth progress will need to be tested often. Eyes may also need checking. Visit the doctor regularly.

For short bowel syndrome, follow the diet plan drawn up by the doctor or nutrition counsellor to help manage the condition. Magnustropin is not a cure for short bowel syndrome.

If a form of Magnustropin that comes in a cartridge is used with an injection pen, use only the pen injection system supplied with that brand of Magnustropin.

Storage depends on the brand and on the diluent used for mixing Magnustropin. After mixing Magnustropin, it may need to be used right away or it may be kept for later use. Read and carefully follow the instructions supplied with the medicine on proper storage of Magnustropin before and after mixing. Ask the pharmacist for guidance on storage.

Throw away any Magnustropin left over once the expiry date on the label has passed.

DETAILS

Magnustropin is a form of human growth hormone. Human growth hormone matters for the growth of bones and muscles.

Magnustropin is used to treat growth failure in children and adults who lack natural growth hormone, and in those with chronic kidney failure, Noonan syndrome, Turner syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, short stature at birth with no catch-up growth, and other causes. Magnustropin is also used to prevent severe weight loss in people with AIDS, or to treat short bowel syndrome.

Magnustropin may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Before receiving Magnustropin, tell the doctor about all past and present medical conditions — allergies, trauma, surgery, diabetes, cancer, breathing problems, liver or kidney disease, scoliosis, high blood pressure, pancreas disorder, underactive thyroid, or a brain tumour.

Also tell the doctor about all other medications in use, especially steroids or diabetes medications. Doses of these medicines may need adjustment once Magnustropin treatment begins. Do not stop a steroid abruptly or change any medication dose without the doctor’s advice.

Patients with Prader-Willi syndrome using Magnustropin should contact their doctor promptly if signs of lung or breathing problems appear — shortness of breath, coughing, or new or increased snoring.

Call the doctor at once for sudden and severe pain in the upper stomach with nausea and vomiting, a fast heartbeat, increased thirst or urination, weight loss, or vision changes and sudden, severe pain behind the eyes.

Before receiving Magnustropin, mention any previous allergic reaction to a growth hormone medicine, or to drug preservatives such as benzyl alcohol, meta-cresol or glycerine.

This medication should not be used in anyone who is allergic to Magnustropin, or who has: diabetic retinopathy (a serious eye condition caused by diabetes); cancer; or Prader-Willi syndrome and is also overweight or has sleep apnoea or severe respiratory (lung) problems.

Magnustropin should also not be used after a serious medical event involving: open heart surgery or stomach surgery;
trauma or another medical emergency; or breathing problems such as lung failure.

For safe use of Magnustropin, tell the doctor about any of these other conditions: liver disease;
kidney disease (or if on dialysis); diabetes; a pituitary gland disorder; scoliosis; high blood pressure (hypertension);
a pancreas disorder (especially in children); a history of cancer; carpal tunnel syndrome; underactive thyroid; or
a brain tumour or lesion.

FDA pregnancy category B. Some brands of Magnustropin are not expected to harm an unborn baby, including Genotropin, Omnitrope, Saizen, Serostim and Zorbtive.

FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether certain other brands of Magnustropin will harm an unborn baby — Humatrope, Norditropin, Nutropin and Tev-tropin among them. Tell the doctor about any pregnancy or plans to become pregnant while using this medication.

Whether Magnustropin passes into breast milk, or could harm a nursing baby, has not been established. Do not use Magnustropin while breast-feeding a baby without first telling the doctor.
